The Cost Christmas Devotional.

24 11 2008

I love this short little video. I don’t know why. I think it’s because of the music I happened to find in my music library that seemed to fit really well. It’s a short commercial piece that we are throwing up on our site and showing this weekend in service. Our church created a devotional based around the advent of Christmas geared towards the cost of Salvation and the cost to reach others. What do you guys think: See the video in HD here.

New Animation!

14 11 2008

If any of you go to Northwood, then this is not going to seem entirely new to you. I created this Animation back in March to be shown on the center of our three screens as people walk in to service. Most of your Northwoodians will recognize it, except now I took out the subtle orange gradient in the middle. It looks pretty good I think. I posted a short 15 second or so clip of it, so you non-Northwoodians could see what I’m talking about. You definitely need to watch this one in HD: here. But for you lazy folk, I posted the low-res below.

New Video: The Glocal Story.

12 11 2008

Everyone knows that Northwood is all about sending people out to serve.  How’d we get there?  It’s a great story.  We showed this a few weeks ago in service.  I tried a new color correcting technique that I thought looked pretty good.  However, it took me 13 hours just to render the color correction.  But it was worth it.  Check it out: I’ll post it here for easy viewing, but you should go to vimeo (click on the word “vimeo” for the link) to see the whole HD version to really appreciate the color correction.

Mmm…Mmm… Pictures and Pizza.

3 11 2008

So since I’m too lazy to research the best online storage solution for all of my pictures, it’s time to post a few of the recent ones to keep you guys updated.  *Caution!  Do not look at the rest of the post if you are hungry, because the pictures of our latest dish at the end of the post will make your mouth water.*

My Mom, Felicia, Dawn (my cousin), and myself went to a local pumpkin patch (before Halloween of course).  Dawn had a blast, and of course, it was the perfect opportunity to take pictures:

Felicia and I created our next dish: Homemade Pizza with Turkey Pepperoni.  Wow. Finger-lickin-good.

And I know you are going to think this next photo is color-treated or photo-shopped. It’s not.  That’s 100% goodness.

It’s been a while!

31 10 2008

So I’ve slightly procrastinated on posting something new lately.  However, this is mainly due to the fact that my macbook pro has been in the shop and hopefully I’ll be getting that back sometime tomorrow.  So we have a lot of pictures of going to the pumpkin patch, cooking new recipes, and other various things that I’ll get up once I get my laptop back.  So in this post I’m posting a new sermon series bump for a sermon series entitled “The Cost”.  It is our yearly missions fund-raising time of the year, and we are going to dive into how huge of an impact the Lord is making on this world through our “glocal” impact.  We actually put together a 5 minute HD piece about the history of our Missions Department and how we are literally transforming Vietnam and how it operates with Christianity.  We still have to go through some security checks before we are able to throw it up online, so maybe we’ll get that up soon.

Anyway, we’ll get some more posts up and I’ll leave you with “The Cost”.

Oh, and for those thinking that your computer was messed up because you couldn’t see some of the photos on the site your computer is perfectly okay.  I was hosting the photos on my mobile me account through apple, and I decided I didn’t want to pay the yearly fee this year, so I will get those pics back up somehow, sometime soon!

Home Makeover video = done.

13 10 2008

See the video in HD at http://vimeo.com/1954532  The video would be more enjoyable at that site because it is a much bigger screen, but for you lazy folks, I’ll post it here too.

Wowee.  What a weekend this has been.  Around 800 Northwood members came together and completely changed the lives of four Haltom City Families.  This is the highlight video that I put together and showed during our two services on Sunday.  Even on Sunday, the day after non-stop hard work, people were still excited and gave a full ovation and whistling after the video was done.  Everyone had a blast.

I’m working on getting some pictures up, the video doesn’t really show the before and after of the houses, but I believe some of our photographers got some of those shots, so I’ll put those up as soon as we get ‘em up.

We have some amazing people at Northwood.

13 10 2008

Well I say new design, but in all reality, I designed it a while ago.  It’s a desktop background for your loverly computer screens… tell me if you likey (just click on it to enlarge it).

It’s that time of year again.

6 10 2008

This friday and saturday over 700 people from Northwood will take on four houses in Haltom City.  The stories behind why each home was chosen is pretty cool and hopefully I’ll be able to upload that pretty soon.  Check out this video from last year, our first time to do it.  This year, the makeover will be even better (and so will the video… much better…) :D
